I've worked as a security guard and bouncer in various settings for almost 6 years. The locales and functions all vary greatly, but one thing always remains the same; the need for stellar customer service skills. If you can talk to people the right way, you can deescalate an extremely volatile situation and literally talk the person out the door. The best part about it? They'll be right back in the bar the next day, because you handled things calmly, professionally and courteously.
